I have been connected to the Unitarian Universalist faith since 1991 and have been a vegan since 1990. I believe that it is inconsistent with the Unitarian Universalist faith to support the exploitation and abuse of animals. The seventh principle states that "We should respect the interdependent web of all existence that we are a part of.". If we want to strive towards a more peaceful world, we cannot continue to kill and harm our fellow creatures. We all exist on this Earth for our own reasons.
